Turns 20 years as a designer and participates as a special guest on 15 June in the official presentation of the project. ‘In conversation with’, the title of the session, was conceived as an initial step in the task of mentoring the new talents promoted by La Roca Village.
Barcelona Designers' Collective is a platform of support for emerging designer with a commercial vocation, which works as a tool for young professionals who are committed to creating their own brand in the world of design. The project driven by La Roca Village is the result of joint collaboration and alliance between La Roca Village and FAD, experts in identifying and promoting talent in design.
The Barcelona Designers’ Collective is part of an international project by Value Retail, which has editions in Fidenza Village, Milan (The Creative Spot); Bicester Village, London (British Designers’ Collective); and Kildare Village, Dublin (Só Collective).
The initiative was established by Value Retail in 2011 to create a bridge between creativity and the public. In 2017 there will be around 70 participants, compared to 62 in the last edition. The temporary boutique is dedicated to the exhibition and sale of products that incorporate art as a new creative expression.
“If I had to give an adjective for Barcelona Designers’ Collective, it would be without a doubt ‘necessary’. It puts the focus on independent design and self-publishing, which for me is where future of design is found” – Nani Marquina.
